DMM - Shadow 12cm Quickdraw
The Shadow carabiner range uses 7000 series alloy which when combined with our I-beam hot-forging technology gives impressive strength figures - the Shadow features a massive 10kN gate open strength and a minimalist weight of 42g.
The Shadow also incorporates a new keylock nose to avoid the biner snagging on items. This is particulally useful when stripping steep routes or when the biner is used for racking gear.
Ergonomically this biner feels right and clipping is really easy - the spine sits in your hand really securely, without twisting and clips beautifully. The plain gate carabiner incorporates a CNC'ed finger recess to make clips fast and secure, whilst the bent gate has been designed with a bend that allows efficient clipping and yet resists accidental unclipping if back clipped.
The inside of the biner has a deep basket so that the rope is guided towards the spine for added safety and the carabiners are completely anodised to help combat corrosion and prolong life in hot, damp or salty enviroments.
The Shadow is the new benchmark for solid gates and there really is nothing to beat it when it comes to clipping bolts on sports routes.
